14th Light Dragoon (Duchess of York's Own)

 

Na pierwszy mój oddział kawalerii wybrałem lekkich dragonów. Pomalowałem go w barwach 14 pułku lekkich dragonów Księżnej Yorku. Pułk ten posiada kolor wyróżniający pomarańczowy, a obszycia i lamówki srebrne (białe).
I chose light dragoons for my first cavalry unit. I painted it in the colors of the 14th regiment of light dragons, the Duchess of York's Own. This regiment has facings in orange color, and lace in silver (white).

Nie uczestniczył w ekspedycji generała Moore'a do północnej Hiszpanii, zatem dopiero po przybyciu Wellesleya 22 kwietnia 1809 roku stał się aktywny bojowo. The 14th Light Dragoon Regiment began its combat trail on December 23, 1808, landing in Lisbon. He did not participate in General Moore's expedition to northern Spain, so it wasn't until Wellesley arrived on April 22, 1809 that he became militant. He made his way to Madrid, participated in the clash of Talavera and retreat to Portugal, in 1810 he again entered Spain with the army and returned to the position of Torres Vedras. In addition to many smaller battles and skirmishes, the regiment participated in the famous battles of Fuentes d'Onoro, Salamanca and Vitoria, and then took part in the campaign in the French lands. He would not be present at Waterloo.

Zestaw generalnie pozwala na odwzorowanie żołnierzy lekkich dragonów z dwóch okresów mundurowych: 1808-12 i 1812-15. Wybrałem oczywiście pierwszy okres, kiedy dołman nie został jeszcze zastąpiony przez kurtkę z wyłogami, a nazywany nawet najpiękniejszym nakryciem głowy kawalerzysty w epoce: tarleton - czakiem.
I made the regiment's soldiers from the perfect set of Perry's BH 90 Napoleonic British Light Dragoons 1808-15. The set generally allows you to fix light dragoons from two uniform periods: 1808-12 and 1812-15. I chose, of course, the first period, when the dolman was not yet replaced by a lap jacket, and called even the most beautiful cavalry headgear in the era: tarleton - by a shako.
